Alienation, isolation, and rejection are paralyzing the church. Even if you can't explain it, you can describe it. It is a reality in our souls. What is rejection and what does it do to people? An ancient evil power is set against God's people, desiring to inject idolatry and destruction into the church. Prophets have authority to uncover and confront this power. The New Testament pictures the united Church in the city, not just fragments that can't get along. Seeing the whole Body of Christ, not just parts of it, enables pastors to agree in prayer. Another component of apostolic faith is small group meetings, little cells of believers, which can powerfully impact their neighborhood in prayer and evangelism. God is restoring the gift of prophetic insight and utterance and the office of the prophet in our day. Guidelines are needed so we don't grieve the Holy Spirit or cause damage in the congregation. Not all suffering is from the devil. Our own foolishness brings it on, but also God's testing comes our way to mature us and to purify our faith. No one is perfected apart from enduring suffering. This last century was the century of the Spirit's outpouring. Every believer needs to be filled with this marvelous gift of grace! Here is a simple pattern to receive or to minister this gift of Christ. |
Grace is always given never earned. And our human nature always tries to reduce grace to legalism and performance, rather than rest through believing. The key is knowing what Christ did for us on the cross. In the former era, everyone ministered in splendid isolation, no one accountable, no one being corporate. But a new day is emerging of apostolic teams of men and women. How do we relate to this dynamic? "If you ask the Holy Spirit, God is an equal opportunity Baptizer!" Our prejudice against women is costing us the harvest. We need to repent and see the Scriptures on this topic through renewed eyes. God is asserting His authority through His Son Jesus in these last days. We have tasted God's power, but not yet seen the revelation of His authority. We need to understand the supremacy of Jesus' place! Healing is part and parcel of the gospel. But is God against the use of medicine? No! Learn how to use your sanctified common sense to start your healing, from the inside out! There is always tension between the old wineskin and the new move of God. Why do many who experience the current move of God abandon or ciriticize the church? Is being dis-organized spiritual? Casual carnality has seeped into much of the church. We think God is like us and He is not. He is holy! And He is absolutely impartial. We always reap what we sow, therefore, reverence for God is wise. |
